Although ordering and purchasing a drawing from DellaLonga Artworks is easy, this page is designed to provide answers to several common questions you may have about the entire process. If you have a question this page does not answer, or questions regarding a specific request please call or email me.
Q: How long does it take to complete a drawing?
A: Depending on the size and complexity of a drawing and the matting and framing, It can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks.
Q: Do you require a deposit or downpayment on an order?
A: Yes, I typically will request a 25% deposit for an order especially if it includes a mat and frame.
Q: What’s the typical size of your drawings?
A: My drawings vary in size, but most are in the 16×20″ range. It sometimes depends on the size of the photograph of the subject matter from which I’m drawing.
Q: How much does a typical drawing cost?
A: The current price of a drawing, excluding the matting and frame is $400.
Q: What about framing and matting the artwork?
A: Framing and matting is extra. The bigger and/or fancier the mat and frame, the higher the cost. I try to do all my own matting and framing to help keep prices down. Please go to the Pricing page for more info.

A: Predominantly, I use graphite pencils. I have dabbled in colored pencil and charcoal.
Q: What subject matter do you draw?
A: Drawing athletes in action is my specialty, but I will try drawing just about anything. I’ve drawn family members, cars, rock stars and movie stars. Please go to my Portfolio page to see the range of my work.
Q: Who provides the photo(s) from which you produce a drawing?
A: It depends. If you have a photograph of what you want drawn, great. I can get started quickly. Sometimes I may have a photo of the subject matter you’re requesting. Otherwise, I can research the subject matter and purchase the photo. The acquisition cost of the photo will be included in the final cost of the drawing. This will often increase the completion time of the drawing.
Q: Do you sell prints of drawings you’ve already completed and/or sold?
A: Yes, in limited numbers.
Q: What’s the price difference between a print and an original?
A: An original drawing is more than double the cost of a print. Check out the Pricing page for details.
